What is Chronic Pain?
Chronic pain refers to persistent pain that continues for weeks, months, or even years beyond the normal healing process. Unlike acute pain, which typically resolves as the body heals, chronic pain can continue even after an injury or underlying condition has improved.
Chronic pain may develop from spinal conditions, nerve injuries, arthritis, autoimmune disorders, previous surgeries, traumatic injuries, or long-term inflammation. Patients often experience ongoing discomfort that interferes with sleep, mobility, concentration, emotional health, work, and overall quality of life.
Symptoms can range from aching and stiffness to burning, radiating, or sharp pain. In many cases, chronic pain involves multiple contributing factors that require a comprehensive and individualized treatment approach.
At Arizona Pain Treatment Centers, our providers focus on identifying the underlying pain generators and developing personalized treatment plans utilizing rehabilitation, interventional pain management procedures, and conservative therapies designed to improve daily function and long-term comfort.
